Event: Nuit Blanche 2016 & Living the Pizza Dream at #DrOPizzaParty

Every year, I look forward to Nuit Blanche! Sometimes I can participate; sometimes I am out of town, but the time of year always brings up so much nostalgia for me, longing for my days in undergrad at Ryerson University. You know, running around the Gladstone Hotel to discover every inch of art or stumbling upon a "mobile rave" that blasts music out of trucks, slowing driving around the city with a horde of dancing people. 14599812_10154135515809613_288893075_o

This year, the centrepiece of the festival was definitely Nathan Phillips Square! There was a glowing orb right by City Hall and a waterfall/projection installation over the fountain/skating rink- both easily the most eye-catching and photographed installations in the entire festival. And! Amongst the collection of a tasty food trucks was a welcome surprise in the form of the #DrOPizzaParty!!! Who am I referring to? Dr. Oetker, of course. To my delight, they were giving away free pizza the entire night. The. Entire. Night. That means until 7 AM. That is some serious dedication to the pizza-loving crowd.

Of course, there was also a photo booth to keep the party going, so I had a little fun in there as well. I posted another photo on the @tofoodies Instagram from the festivities as well and honestly, I had multiple friends texting me afterwards saying some equivalent of "OMG", and "Free Pizza?!?!?!" (um, yes, I just said that... guess it was late in the night...geeze guys!).

As for the pizza itself? Lovely! The line up was understandably long (who doesn't want free pizza?), but incredibly fast so pizza was flying out of the ovens and into people's hand in record time. This new lineup of Dr. Oetker Ristorante Ultra Thin Crust Pizza is quite something. It still has a yummy crust (thin and crispy), cheese (melty and delicious), and the same amount of toppings (fresh and plentiful) that you know and love from Dr. Oetker, except there are some new flavours like: Capicollo, Oven Roasted Chicken and Peppers (fave!), Roasted Mushroom and Garlic, Roasted Vegetable & Goat Cheese, and Spinach & Provolone. With these combos, it's definitely a pizza line that you can take home and enjoy, be it as a main meal for yourself or cut up into cute slices for entertaining guests.

For us, this pizza party was such a welcome stop in the night and we're quite sure that all the Nuit Blanche-goers would agree! That's kind of a no-brainer.
